The Forth Rivers Trust is dedicated to engaging people with the rivers and wildlife within the Forth catchment area while conserving these vital ecosystems for future generations. Based in Edinburgh, the Trust's efforts span over 3,000 km², covering 13 river catchments and numerous coastal burns. This area is home to about 25% of Scotland's population and a diverse range of wildlife. Their work includes educational initiatives, public awareness campaigns aimed at protecting and enhancing water habitats, and conservation projects ranging from erosion control, riparian tree planting and peatland restoration to fish barrier removal and in-stream habitat improvements. In all of its projects, location data plays a crucial role which is amplified by the organisation's collaborative nature. From fieldwork design and public data collection to a variety of analyses and visualisations used for public engagement, data sharing, and reporting and evidencing for action.
